After less then 3 years of use in our motorhome we have had the same problems with our convection/microwave but our clock goes out every time the door is opened then to set a cook time we need to cancel numerous times before it kicks in sometimes it works we have never been notified of any recalls which I feel whirlpool should have done. We have now replaced this model wouldn't recommend unless u want short term use

Awesome. It's in our RV and the best thing like it I have ever used. By the way, if you're doing a product review, and giving it one star before you give the company a chance to help you, then don't comment. Especially don't use something stupid like fake news. Actually, go ahead. That's how I spot idiots now.

We replaced our 15 year old GE with this microwave 3 years,5 months, and 7 days ago (April 2016). We loved its functionality from the beginning. It did everything we needed it to do. The convection feature was a definite bonus. The first time I used it to bake cookies, all was right with the world. I usually use the power control setting when cooking. I believe the microwave cycles between full power on/off to reach the desired cooking setting. Maybe this was too hard on it. A few years of this and it is no longer working now (September 2019). When it broke, it smoked and we smelled burnt plastic. So, I had to break out my smaller 28 year old GE microwave from college (lives in the basement) as a back-up until we could find another over-the-range microwave. It (the GE) still works perfectly; it's just small. Needless to say, I am disappointed that this Whirlpool microwave did not stand the test of time. Of course, it is out of warranty, and repairing it would cost almost as much as a new one. That's two strikes on Whirlpool for me. We had problems with our seven-year-old Whirlpool clothes dryer as well. Luckily, that part only cost $60 and I was able to fix it myself. We will probably not purchase any Whirlpool products going forward. We need appliances that can handle family duty and it seems that they are not up to the task, in our experience.

Started getting "door not closed" message the 3rd year after purchase . Spent over $200 to get it fixed last year . This year the same problem has came back . How can whilrpool put such flaky door mechanisms in their high end MWs ?

We had two of them. Great product

We had an earlier version of this product in our home for over 10 years. It worked beautifully and EZ. We bot a new RV and the Micro/conv was junk. Factory replaced it. Still Junk. Took it to Goodwill and bot this model for our RV. Had it for 4 years. Works beautifully. Only oven in RV. The one at home gave up the ghost so we replaced it with this model. Love it. Our daughter and son-in-law also bot one. Love it. Bjuying a new house so we will replace the micro in it with the upgraded model of this.
