The ice machine is the problem

bought this new in late 2017 and thankfully got the geek squad warranty. the ice machine in the fridge area is a bad idea that needs to stop. it constantly freezes over and then you break the tray pulling it out and have to buy a heatgun to get it working. bestbuy finally took it back after at least 8 repair attempts. only get the ice maker if its in the freezer section.

we have had this refrigerator for 1 year, 8 months and 12 days. it still runs, but does not cool. after talking to customer service at samsung, they are denying all warranty, as they do not have a technician in my region to come verify the problem. since they cannot confirm that the refrigerator is not working, they refuse to issue a refund, due to them not being able to verify the issue with a technician. if you sell your product with a warranty, you should have a way to actually uphold it.

ice maker started having issues after a year. they replaced the ice maker and control board. 30 days later the compressor would not shut off. called all around to get a tech out since the authorized repair center can't get out for a week. repair person diagnosed the issue to be the compressor and they do not replace them only authorized. compressor is under warranty but getting someone out to replace it is next to impossible. i can buy another one for 3300$....

as said before by many other consumers, the ice maker ruins a really nice refrigerator. we have had our refrigerator for 4 years and 3 of them have been filled with ice maker issues that require a couple hours a week trying to defrost the ice maker. we have replaced the icemaker twice and have tried many fixes with no reprieve it never fails, when we have family and friends over, the ice maker freezes up and stops making ice it is so bad we had a family member buy us a counter top ice maker so we wouldnt have to deal with the refrigerator ice maker. we have hobbled along with this refrigerator because it was so expensive and we splurged to get this refrigerator so sad samsung is not doing much to remedy the situation for so many of its customers.

2 year old compressor failed

bought in 2018, the compressor failed. called and opened ticket with samsung, the techinican arrived after 5 days. all the food spoiled. the technician recommended that there has been a leak in the system, which is hard to fix and that samsung would replace the refrigerator. he made a call and recommendation to samsung, but was told that he should try replacing the compressor first as per samsung policy, so he did. the refrigerator was working, lasted a week and the second compressor failed too. opened another tocket with samsung ince they closed the first case. today is the 5th day and still no call to setup schedule. wasted another $300 worth of food.
