GE® 15.7 Cu. Ft. Manual Defrost Chest Freezer

Easy to set up and set temperature. I like the coffin type so adding dividers will be nice,

I purchased one of these and it was delivered in Feb, 2022. I reported air leaks causing excessive frost buildup on inside where lid hinges are located. GE agreed to replace the unit. I was very pleased with their handling of the issue. After the replacement arrived, I started hearing a strange sound, like air escaping under high pressure. This freezer also has the same problem as the first. I reported both problems and after some research by GE, they came back and said the excessive frost buildup was “as designed”, and that they were wrong when they replaced the first one. After continued complaints, the finally sent a GE repairman out. He said the sound was “normal”. At first he agreed with me about the frost buildup but after making a call, he came back and said it was “as designed”. So GE says they made the frost buildup and the strange noise “by design”. Where is the common sense here. Thankfully my freezer is in garage. If it was inside, the noise would be totally unacceptable. Now I only hear it when motor is running and I go into garage. My idea of design improvements and that of GE designers is very different. It freezes great btw. I won’t buy another GE product as long as a viable alternative is available.

It's big! Has for movable baskets so it is more convenient to store a lot of stuff. I love that it has an alert system.

Doesn’t need to constantly cycle so is pretty quiet. 4 generous bins helps keep things organized.

We purchased this one as our very old standing freezer was on it's last legs. This freezer has so much more space than we thought it would! The sliding baskets are wonderful for our hamburger and other small items. We were able to fit a quarter of beef along with about 40 more pounds of various frozen items with room to spare!
