I originally bought a different washer from another store tha had these features but was much more expensive. The customer service was poor so I cancelled and went somewhere else. I'm so glad that I did as I found this washer that had all of the features that I wanted for much less money! I'm very happy that even though it's basic with no frills, it works great!

THIS MACHINE IS MUCH NOISIER THAN MY OLD WASHER. IN AN EFFORT TO BE "MORE EFFICIENT AND SAFER", FOR SOME REASON THIS MACHINE HAS A LOCKING LID AND IF FOR SOME REASON YOU FORGET TO SHUT THE LID, THE WATER STARTS TO DRAIN AND THIS CYCLE CAN'T BE STOPPED SO YOU LOSE ALL THE WATER AND SOAP. THIS ALSO PREVENTS YOU FROM SOAKING CERTAIN ITEMS BEFORE YOU WASH THEM. A MAN MUST HAVE DESIGNED THIS WITHOUT GETTING INPUT FROM THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY DO THE LAUNDRY.

I bought this washer 3 weeks ago after having numerous problems with our whirlpool front loader. It can handle bigger loads and has faster wash times. I am very pleased with it and considering the matching dryer when I get more cash. Thumbs up amana.
