I was wondering why it took so long to heat up. The code came up E 09. Bad heating element....It was only about two years old and hardly used! Costing about $400 to fix!

The weight of the door is supported by a spring/rope/guide assembly. The guide rides on a clyndrical extension on the base. This plastic cylinder takes the full tension from the spring and bends slightly overtime. Eventually, as the bending gets a few degrees less than 90, the guide slides on the cylinder, breaks and rope and spring tension is released. This has failed four times in the three years of my ownership. The last three times were within one month, and because the last time the breaking guide also broke two tabs on the base, this 4th repair, like the first, also caused the base to be replaced. The repair companies did not recognize the root cause of the breaking guides. This repair fixed the failure mode, at least for awhile. A better design would prevent the guide from sliding off the cylinder, which could be accomplish in a variety of ways. All in, this terrible design has cost me nearly $1,000 in repair and parts costs. Unacceptable. But for this, I like the dishwasher.

Wish I could give zero starts. The pins that hold the door cable guides have failed on both sides of the dishwasher. It appears from diagrams that this component will require the complete disassemble of the dishwasher to replace the base. The dishwasher has been in service only 10 months. This type of failure seems to be a engineering failure in choosing a material that is put under alot of stress from the door springs. The plastic base has not re-enforcement in this area and plastic cable guides seem to mechanicaly increase this stress to this pin that is molded in to the base. This design seems to make this model dishwasher a throw away model which is a sham for the amount of money that one pays for the brand name. Bosch historically meant a produce with excellant engineering and material science behind their product. With less than a year and catastrophic failure of a major underpinning of the dishwasher this does not seem to be the case any more

We had many issue with the dishwasher. It's 3 years old abd everything has started to full apart. The door spring has broken and slams down if you don't hold it. The digital buttons stopped working and now the door won't close. I would expected much more from Bosch.
