Bad microwave, quit working in a year.

This microwave was installed by our builder 3.5 years ago. After about a year, we started have problems with it not turning on. At first, the light sometimes wouldn’t turn on when we open the door, nor would it work after we closed the door. This has now become more of the norm. It’s frustrating to need to use the microwave and it not working. Help?

I purchased this product when we remodeled our kitchen. It was the only microwave we could find that had a 0 clearance for the door opening as we had deeper cabinets installed. The Monday before Thanksgiving we began to get the Open/Close door error and the microwave would not work. Called for repair as we had purchased the extended warranty. They scheduled for Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving). That day they called and canceled and changed to the following Monday. Not the end of the world but not good timing. That Monday they came out and said it was a board issue and they would order it and call to schedule installation when the part came in...I NEVER HEARD BACK. On January 2, I called and they said they had the part but never called me. Scheduled for Friday January 4, they came and replaced the board but left without checking if the problem was fixed. I went to heat something and now my microwave will not even heat up. Called immediately to have the guy return as he had only left my house 5 minutes prior...they said they do not return to the house to complete their repairs. I in turn called everyone I could but no one would help. Was told they could not schedule for the same day...or the next business day. I now have to wait ANOTHER WEEK for someone to come out to look at it. I would not recommend this product or purchasing the warranty to anyone.

Door Latch Problem

I have had multiple issues with the door latch. Its a very poor design I will close the door and it tells me the door is open. Will not work.

Sticker just inside the door states manufacture date of November 2016. Present Microwave came with a new house which we closed on Feb 21, 2017. Just this month (Sept 2018), the Microwave started giving the instruction to open/close door when trying to get something heated/cooked. It now works sometimes but mostly does not. It used to give message to ENJOY YOUR MEAL at the end of cooking time (now just displays END). Many times opening the door does revert the display to the clock but most times it stays with END. If END, it may give the end tones to remind the user to not forget whats inside (even after it has been taken out). Most of the time the inside light often does not come on when door is opened (if it does come on, there is a good chance it will operate when cooking time is entered and started but many times does not). I did have a Whirlpool tech come out to see what is the issue. The repair cost was about the same as a new one so declined the repair and paid only the service call fee. I like the Microwave when it worked but I expected the service life and reliability to be much longer than I experienced.
